It’s official: William Lipton, best known for playing Cameron Webber on General Hospital, has officially stepped into his solo music era. His debut single, “Theo,” is out now, and it’s been a moment in the making.

In the days leading up to the release, Lipton teased fans on Instagram, writing: “Solo project incoming! Wrote a tune a few years back with my dear friend @nlcklynch and I think it’s time to share it. First of many to come. ‘Theo’ out December 19th.” Well, December 19th has arrived, and the song is now streaming across all major music platforms.

Lipton is no stranger to balancing acting and music. The American actor and musician portrayed Cameron Webber on General Hospital from 2018 to 2024 and went on to star as Charlie Cooper in Amazon Prime Video’s musical drama The Runarounds.

William Lipton’s Music Journey

A California native, he attended high school in San Mateo before studying music at the University of Southern California. He graduated from USC’s Thornton School of Music in 2025 and is also a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

Music has always been at the core of his journey. In The Runarounds, Lipton plays a guitarist and songwriter determined to land a record deal, art imitating life in the best way.

Off-screen, Lipton’s musical path kept gaining momentum. In 2021, he became part of the real-life band The Runarounds after being selected from more than 5,000 musicians during a casting search led by writer and producer Jonas Pate. The group quickly found its footing, performing together even before their appearance in season three of Outer Banks, and later taking the stage at events such as the Lovin’ Life Music Fest in Charlotte, North Carolina, in May 2025.

Now, with “Theo,” William Lipton is turning the page and starting a new chapter, one that’s all his own. Be sure to give the track a listen.
