General Hospital alum Constance Towers (Helena Cassadine) has suffered a heartbreaking family loss. John Gavin, her husband, with whom she has been married since 1974 and shares two children with, has passed away. According to reports, Gavin died on Friday at the age of 86 without providing the cause of death.


Gavin, throughout the years, appeared in shows such as Spartacus, Psycho, A Time to Love and a Time to Die, 1950’s B-movies,  and many other hit films of the 1960s. He later had a career shift and became President Ronald Reagan’s ambassador to Mexico. Gavin also served as a former president of the Screen Actors Guild. He has done a lot of other exceptional things with his life and his career. We here at Soap Opera News are very sorry to learn of his passing and Towers’ loss and will keep her and family in our prayers during this difficult time.
