General Hospital’s Risa Dorken (Amy Driscoll) opened up about her bipolar diagnosis via social media. On World Mental Health Day the actress shared, “I’m celebrating 9 months since my Bipolar diagnosis. Months that I spent re-learning my body, and getting my head right. I had hit rock-bottom, and couldn’t imagine getting better. I am so grateful for the help of professionals, and for medication that makes it all possible.

She continued, “There is no shame in needing help. I am proud of myself. It took a village to get me back on my feet, but believe me when I tell you, it was all worth it, and I am so happy to be back to feeling like myself. Take care of your friends, neighbors, and family members- We all need each other more than ever. Reach out if you need help, it can and does get better.
