Now that The Young and the Restless is seeking a black actor in his 40s for a role on the show, fans are eagerly suggesting names for the possibility, and Gavin Houston’s name is already being thrown into the mix.
Reports suggest that CBS daytime drama is on the hunt for a black male actor in his early to mid-40s to play a pivotal role with potential for a three-year contract. The character is described as tall, charming, and attractive — someone with loads of passion, wit, and charm. There’s also a hint that this character might have a bit of a dark side.

Gavin Houston is probably best known for his portrayal of Jeffrey Harrington on the successful Tyler Perry primetime series The Haves and the Have Nots. With his soap opera roots in the CBS daytime arena, Houston initially gained attention for his role as Remy Boudreau on Guiding Light from 2002 to 2006.
After a brief stint as Sly Thomas on General Hospital in 2010, he later returned to the soap to take on the character of Zeke Robinson, Portia’s brother, and Jordan’s love interest in 2023. Considering his experience and talent, Houston would be a perfect fit for this role on The Young and the Restless, what do you think?
