Scottish, soap veteran and Emmy-award-winning actor Ian Buchanan is celebrating a very special milestone birthday!  He is turning 65 today!


He was born on June 16, 1957, in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland. After studying acting in New York at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and privately with Marcia Haufrecht, Buchanan’s first major daytime role came in 1986, 


Buchanan has worked on the big and small screens and is arguably best known for his work in daytime television. His first major role in daytime was on General Hospital as the dashing Duke Lavery. Buchanan went on to star in The Bold and the Beautiful (Dr. James Warwick), Days of our Lives (Lord Sheraton and Ian McAllister), Port Charles (Joshua Temple), and All My Children (Dr. Greg Madden.)


 More recently Buchanan appeared in the television comedy mini-series This Show Sucks Truth + Consequences. In addition, he can be seen in the upcoming feature film Sam’s Place, which is in pre-production, and in the announced romantic comedy Byrd and the Bees.
