James Hyde has vacated the role of Jeremy Stark on The Young and the Restless.
Hyde, probably best known for his role as Sam Bennett on Passions made his debut as Jeremy in 2022. Jeremy was released from prison in November 2022 and showed up at the Abbott mansion after being tipped off by Phyllis Summers on Diane’s whereabouts. Jack Abbott came by and shook hands with Jeremy while unaware of who he was. Later, their son Kyle Abbott showed up at Jeremy’s door and warned him away from Diane. Jeremy texted Diane and told her that getting the Abbotts involved was a mistake. He ended up sticking around for a while.
In an Instagram live held by the actor today, he said, “I loved the character. It’s unfortunate the way it happened, but that’s the way it goes.” Stark met an ugly end this week on the CBS daytime drama. He added, “This is the end for him. We’re doing a soap, so you never know.“
