Salem and Days of Our Lives fans are about to say goodbye to Claire Brady.
The town fire starter will be sent off to a mental hospital on July 9th. Olivia Rose Keegan who plays the legacy character found it difficult to say goodbye to the show and the character. Olivia joined the cast of the soap in 2015 when she was only fifteen years old. She told Soap Opera Digest that “I grew up with the people there. They’re my family.”
Olivia says she has so many great memories about Claire’s journey from the young girl we met at the beginning to the pyromaniac we know today. “I got to play a thousand characters in one. I am so grateful for my last storyline and the last six months on the show.” She even noted that playing her character’s exit story was the most fun she had on the show. She enjoyed the challenging material and that she got to shoot some of her last scenes with her real-life best friend, Victoria Konefal (Ciara Brady).
She credits the show for teaching her everything she knows about acting. She talked about how the fast pace and demanding storylines are great practice for the craft.
Keegan says that the things she misses most about being on set are the people and the conversations. “I didn’t ever think that could be called a job because it didn’t feel like a job.” And some of those people made her last day on set very special. Many cast and crew had an impromptu glitter celebration in her dressing room and later that evening she went out for dinner with Victoria, Thia Megia (Haley Chen), Matt Ashford (Jack Deveraux) and her hair stylist Marisa.
Olivia mentions how she loves Days and Salem and visits the set as often as she can. And that she would love to come back to the show one day. But for now, she is loving auditioning for new roles and working on her incredible music.
We wish Olivia the best for her future! And we can’t wait to see what she does next!
