This new and dangerously unpredictable version of Willow Tait on General Hospital has become so entertaining to watch. That’s because Katelyn MacMullen plays the part so well. So much so that she has been chosen as Soap Opera News’ performer of the week for January 19-23. Shall we discuss what happened?
What Happened this Week on General Hospital?
After finally being granted a not-guilty verdict just like she had hoped for, Willow shocked us once again. It was only recently that the show confirmed via flashbacks that she’s indeed Drew Cain‘s shooter. And many guessed it from the get-go, the story finally playing out onscreen was a juicy piece to watch.
This week, after the verdict was read, Willow was in full celebratory mode. She got home, got champagne, and toasted to her future alongside her husband.
Twisted Willy?
However, in a twist that many did not see coming, Willow got behind Drew and plunged a syringe into his neck. As he fell to the ground — in pain — and in shock, she uttered words mirroring those he said just moments before he got shot back in September.
Willow then brought Drew to the hospital, where the diagnosis was not favorable.
The bonus throughout this storyline is that we got to see Katelyn MacMullen tap into those acting chops that have made her a fan favorite.
Her fateful wife’s pretence is on point. Her emotional scenes are a gift. And that shit between sane and twisted kept us on the edge of our seats.
She is playing this twisted, scheming wife to a T. And that’s talent. MacMullen has been turning in back-to-back Emmy-worthy scenes. Undoubtedly, she has become one to watch, and we’re proud to name her the performer of the week.
