This week, we were reminded just how much we need more Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland) on screen driving the stories on The Young and the Restless. Her outstanding performance earned her the title of Soap Opera News’ Performer of the Week, and it’s easy to see why.
In the latest story arc, Ian Ward (Ray Wise) is back in town, and he has a couple of chats with Tessa (Cait Fairbanks); however, she has no idea who he truly is. After a couple encounters with him at Society, things took a dark turn when he drugged her water, causing her to feel lightheaded. Seeking fresh air, she stepped outside but ended up staggering and falling right into Ian’s arms. Lo and behold, the moment viewers were waiting for came but ended in cliffhanger style when Mariah arrived on the scene and came face-to-face with Ian—the man who stole her at birth—it was intense.
Camryn Grimes Is the Performer of the Week
Mariah’s reaction was the talk of the soap community! She got in protective mode and lashed out at Ian in a powerful confrontational scene. Grimes really brought her A game, reminding us once again that she knows how to bring it.
It’s moments like these that make us want to see more of the two-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress, front and center, driving the stories that keep us hooked. Congratulations to Camryn Grimes for being named performer of the week!
