The soap community has lost a legend! Harding Lemay passed away at the age of 96 on May 26 according to a report from We Love Soaps. The talented star was best known as one of the greatest writers in the soap genre. He was also the author of one of the most talked about memoirs, “8 Years in Another World” which was about his time on “Another World”, a now defunct daytime drama. Throughout his tenure, Lemay served as Head Writer and Story Consultant for Another World, Story Consultant for As the World Turns, Head Writer for The Doctors, Consultant and Writer for Guiding Light and Story Consultant for One Life to Live. He also earned Daytime Emmy Award wins for best writing for AW and GL in 1975 and 1981 respectively. We are sorry to hear of his passing and extend our sympathies to his family, may his soul rest in peace!
