On August 24, Tanisha Harper from General Hospital received the prestigious Pinnacle Award from The Juanita A. Portlock Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of her outstanding contributions to the fashion industry. This recognition celebrates her illustrious career as a model, actor, and inspiring figure for aspiring individuals in the fashion world.
In response to the accolade, Harper expressed her gratitude on Instagram, “For once, I’m speechless.” She also shared, “Wow! words can’t express my gratitude for being recognized and honored for my contributions to the fashion industry.”
At the age of 15, Harper began working in print, runway, and commercial modeling and fashion jobs. She quickly gained recognition for her look and presence on the catwalk. Her early success in the industry led to numerous opportunities to collaborate with renowned photographers and stylists, paving the way for her as a rising star in the world of fashion. Additionally, she caught the attention of top-tier fashion magazines, resulting in a string of exclusive editorials for publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Marie Claire.
The Juanita A. Portlock Memorial Scholarship Fund, in partnership with Juanita’s Red Room, embodies the “each one teach one” philosophy, serving as a living tribute to the remarkable legacy of Juanita A. Portlock. This initiative, championed by her family, culminated in the grand Brunch Ball event at the LUXE Hotel on Sunset in Brentwood on August 24, 2024, to celebrate the life and legacy of Juanita A. Portlock.
