The Chat proudly hosted its first annual awards on June 26th, 2024. This esteemed podcast, led by the dynamic team of Casey, Tiggz, Rodrigo, Alan, and Chaz, is known for its engaging weekly discussions about beloved TV shows and much more. However, on this momentous occasion, the team took a bold step by celebrating the outstanding achievements of the four daytime dramas. The event included a special in-memoriam segment, paying heartfelt tribute to the departed stars. There was also a segment honoring the remarkable Michele Val Jean, known for her roles in various daytime soap operas, and her upcoming project, The Gates, slated for a January 2025 premiere on CBS.
The Chat’s Nomination and Voting Process:
The co-hosts closely followed the shows from January to June, with each allotted one nomination in all acting categories, resulting in up to five nominees per category. Furthermore, all four current soap operas were nominated in the Drama Series, Writing, and Directing categories.
After selecting the nominees, the judges dedicated almost three days to the meticulous voting process and winners were announced on June 26th. The event also featured presenters, including Alan Sarapa (Co-host of The Chat) and Melodie Aikels (from Daytime Confidential).
