Lorna Raver, best known to daytime audiences for her role as Rebecca Kaplan on The Young and the Restless, has passed away at the age of 81. She died on May 12, 2025.
Born in York, Pennsylvania, Raver was raised in a Pennsylvania Dutch environment. Her passion for performing began early, with formative experiences at the Hedgerow Theater in Pennsylvania. She eventually moved to New York City, where she built a strong foundation in off-Broadway theater before expanding into television and film—launching a career that soared across decades.
Soap fans will remember her portrayal of Rebecca Kaplan on The Young and the Restless, a role she took on from 2006 to 2007, replacing Millie Perkins. In the storyline, Rebecca was the mother of the late Brad Carlton and grandmother of the late Colleen Carlton. Raver also appeared as Helen Miller, a Cape Cod resident, in 1997.
Her television credits were wide-ranging and included roles on ER, Saved by the Bell: The New Class, Beverly Hills, 90210, Felicity, Judging Amy, Star Trek: Voyager, Gilmore Girls, Charmed, First Watch, NYPD Blue, Cold Case, Desperate Housewives, Weeds, Nip/Tuck, Bones, and Grey’s Anatomy.
On the big screen, she appeared in Freeway and Armored.
Raver retired from acting in 2014 but left behind a legacy of memorable performances.
