Cait Fairbanks, known to soap fans and The Young and the Restless watchers as Tessa Porter, is engaged!
Unlike her Y&R alter ego Tessa, who’s currently hitting some rough patches in her marriage to Mariah (Camryn Grimes), Cait Fairbanks has something much brighter to celebrate in real life.
Over the weekend, she hopped onto Instagram to flash a gorgeous, sparkly ring and share the happy news: she’s engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Jay Rudolph. A little off-screen joy never hurt anybody, and this one is definitely worth cheering for. We’re cheering.
For those who may not know, Rudolph is a musician, and a talented one at that. He’s a drummer who has toured with Weyes Blood, and he also lent his skills to Marlon Rabenreither’s track “Wild Boys.” In short, he’s got rhythm on and off the stage.
Nice, right? Especially since Cait is also a musician in real life, talk about a harmonious match.
Cait and Rudolph have been together for about five years now, so this engagement has been a long time coming.
And the timing is sweet too: the happy news arrives just after her co-star and friend Camryn Grimes recently tied the knot with her longtime love, Brock Powell. Love is definitely in the air over in the Y&R family.
As for Cait’s on-screen alter ego, fans can catch her in her recurring role on The Young and the Restless weekdays on CBS. Tessa’s world is a bit messier than Cait’s at the moment; she’s developed feelings for Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei).
With the ongoing cracks in her marriage, she and Daniel have only grown closer… a kiss or two included. Drama, drama, drama, but that’s why we tune in, right?
