After six seasons as “Howard Hamlin” on AMC’s megahit “Better Call Saul,” Patrick Fabian will lead an ensemble cast in “The Way We Speak” from award-winning writer and director Ian Ebright (“From The Sky”). An allegory about America’s fractured politics and culture, the indie feature will be produced by Broken Telegraph with locations across the Pacific Northwest.
Ebright’s screenplay follows Simon (Fabian), an up-and-coming commentator whose world is turned upside down when his best friend and debate opponent suffers a fatal heart attack. Simon refuses to leave the spotlight at an annual thought-leader summit, leading to an obsession with his new opponent and a growing rift with “Claire,” his ailing wife (Diana Coconubo of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit). Kailey Rhodes (Black Pool), Ayanna Berkshire (Twilight), and Lowell Deo (Z Nation) complete the primary cast.
“I am thrilled to have Patrick Fabian as the protagonist of what will be a nuanced and emotional cautionary tale,” Ebright says. “His talent and insight are integral to bringing this multifaceted story to life.”
