Duell stepped into the role of Michael Corinthos in 2010 and quickly won the hearts of viewers. Michael Kills Claudia Zacchara (2010)

Duell stepped into the role of Michael during this dramatic storyline, which became a defining moment for the character. Michael killed his stepmother, Claudia Zacchara, to protect his mother, Carly, and his unborn sister. His father, Sonny Corinthos, took the blame, but Michael’s guilt consumed him. He ultimately confessed to his half-brother, Dante, who was forced to reveal the truth in court just before Sonny was to be sentenced. Michael was given a five-year prison sentence. This moment set the tone for Chad’s complex and layered portrayal of Michael.

Michael Holds Sonny at Gunpoint (2014)

Michael’s relationship with his biological father, A.J. Quartermaine, was a turning point for the character. After the two grew close and teamed up to oust Tracy Quartermaine as CEO of ELQ, their bond was tragically cut short when A.J. was murdered while trying to clear his name.
Sonny, A.J.’s actual killer, framed Carlos Rivera for the crime. When Michael discovered the truth, he confronted Sonny and held him at gunpoint. The intense scene, with Michael disowning Sonny, Carly, and his brothers Dante and Morgan, was a showcase for Chad’s raw
emotional performance. Michael also changed his last name to Quartermaine in honor of A.J.

The Death of Sabrina Santiago (2016)

Michael’s romance with Sabrina Santiago brought moments of happiness, but her tragic murder was one of the most heartbreaking chapters in Michael’s life. Sabrina initially worked as a nanny for Michael’s baby sister, Avery, while Sonny was in prison. Over time, their professional relationship grew into a romantic one. Sabrina encouraged Michael to reconnect with his parents, and after a brief breakup, they rekindled their love. Their happiness was short-lived, however, when Sabrina was murdered. Michael’s grief over her death and his heartbreak at giving up her son, Teddy, were brought to life with Chad’s gut-wrenching performance.

The Baby Swap Reveal (2019)

Michael’s relationship with Nelle Benson led to a devastating storyline involving their son, Jonah. Nelle, seeking revenge against the Corinthos family, switched Jonah at birth with Brad Cooper’s stillborn baby. Brad raised Jonah as “Wiley” alongside his husband, Lucas, while Nelle
pretended Jonah had died. Two years later, Michael learned the truth and was reunited with his son. Chad delivered a nuanced performance as Michael grappled with anguish, relief, and fury. This storyline remains one of the most impactful of his career.
