Rory Gibson only made his debut as Michael Corinthos on General Hospital earlier this year, but he’s already become a fast fan favorite. And that’s not just thanks to his looks or his build, but because the guy’s got legit acting chops. Some of those chops are now on full display in a new sci-fi drama called Fugitive from Asteron.
Who Does Rory Gibson Play?
Directed by Dan T. Hall and written by Gen LaGreca, the film stars Gibson in the lead role of Arial. The story follows Arial, a skilled military pilot who escapes the tyrannical planet Asteron and crash-lands on a future version of Earth. Adapted from LaGreca’s award-winning novel, Fugitive from Asteron takes us on a gripping journey through Arial’s life under the harsh rule of Feran, where freedom is limited, love is assigned, and rebellion comes with deadly consequences.
What is Fugitive from Asteron About?
Yearning for something better, Arial finds forbidden comfort with the fiery and rebellious Reevah. But when their affair is exposed—right after he refuses to carry out one of Feran’s brutal commands—their world crumbles. Desperate and out of options, Arial seizes a chance at freedom by stealing Feran’s spacecraft, unknowingly taking off with a mysterious piece of cargo that Feran was about to transport for a secret mission.
That mission leads Arial straight to Earth’s future, a place filled with hope, innovation, and a whole lot more freedom than he’s ever known. Adopting the name Alexander, he starts to build a new life and forges connections—including one with Kristin Merrett, a talented young pilot who becomes his guide through this strange new world.
But just as Alex starts to breathe again, Feran’s forces close in. The mysterious cargo turns out to be tied to a major scientific breakthrough on Earth, one that could be used for incredible good… or world-ending evil. Alex must uncover its secrets and face a threat that could cost him the new life, and new love, he’s finally found.
Fugitive from Asteron blends adventure, romance, and mystery as Alex fights to save Earth while discovering what freedom, happiness, and a life truly worth living actually mean.
The film also features Henry Ian Cusick, Dean Cain, Morgan Bradley, Jam Murphy, Jim Krueger, Dan White (ex-Elijah Crowe, General Hospital), and plenty more.
