James Hyde is celebrating his 60th birthday today. Hyde was born on October 9, 1962, in Lancaster, Ohio. Hyde and his wife, Sue-Ling Garcia, were married in 1994 and they have a son, James Moses, born in 2004.
James Hyde joined the military after high school and was discovered by a modeling agent while stationed in Hawaii. He enjoyed a highly successful career as a model traveling all over the world, working for top designers, and gracing the covers of prominent magazines before embarking on a career in acting.
In the early days of his acting career, Hyde appeared in television series including the daytime dramas As the World Turns and Another World and he toured as a dancer with the new wave band Dead or Alive.
He landed his breakout role in the soap opera Passions playing Sam Bennett in 1999. More recently Hyde has starred in films such as the action feature Dutch, and the thrillers Deadly Girls Night Out and My Escort Best Friend, and the television movies Finding Emma, Prisoner of Love, and Love Under the Lemon Tree among his other projects.
Hyde’s fans can also see his forthcoming performances in the short film Unfaithful, the television movie Beverly Hills Broke and soap fans are celebrating the news that Hyde is returning to daytime and has been cast in The Young and the Restless!
