Jason Thompson has an anniversary to celebrate today. On December 7, 2005, he began his daytime soap opera career. On that day he made his debut as Dr. Patrick Drake on General Hospital. He originated the role and since his first appearance on the show he has been paired with various women as the women at the hospital called him Dr. Hottie in reference to his looks. Patrick Drake saved many lives and mended a bad relationship with his father Dr. Noah Drake.
Patrick Drake’s most outstanding relationship on the show was with Dr. Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough). He has been involved in some very emotional storylines which earned him 5 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, 3 in the category of Oustanding Lead Actor and 2 in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
After his very successful run on the ABC daytime drama, Thompson exited the series on January 7, 2016. He then moved on to The Young and the Restless where he began playing the role of Billy Abbott, appearing on the show for the first time on January 10, 2016.
