In a recent development spotted by fans, Josh Kelly, who plays Cody Bell on General Hospital, is no longer listed as a contract player in the show’s closing credits. This would suggest that Kelly has been dropped to recurring status. The actor has held a series regular position since joining the show back in 2022, and this change comes as a surprise to many.

Josh Kelly’s time on the show has been eventful, with his character Cody Bell quickly becoming entangled in some major storylines. Since arriving in Port Charles, Cody has been revealed as the biological son of Mac Scorpio and Dominique Baldwin. That connection alone made him feel like a permanent fixture.

So, what does going off contract mean for Cody’s future on the canvas? Typically, when an actor moves to recurring status, it means they won’t have the same guaranteed screen time as a contract player would. However, Cody’s current storyline suggests he might not be going anywhere just yet. In recent episodes, Kristina hired Cody to pursue Ava Jerome, and he accepted the job.

Josh Kelly is also known to soap fans for his role as Cutter Wentworth on ABC’s One Life to Live.

One response to “Josh Kelly Off Contract at General Hospital”

  1. A TERRIBLE decision to get rid of Cody. He’s the best actor at comic relief on GH! He has chemistry with literally everyone! He’s young and handsome which they fail to write for him. Please reconsider keeping Josh Kelly and make him a central character!
