Fans of General Hospital were surprised to see a different face playing Maxie Jones on the July 3 episode. That’s because actress Nicole Paggi has once again stepped in to temporarily replace Kirsten Storms in the popular role.
According to TV Insider, Paggi’s current stint as Maxie won’t be a one-off appearance. Due to the soap opera’s fast-paced production schedule—often filming multiple episodes in a single day—Paggi will also appear on the July 30 and August 13 episodes. However, Kirsten Storms is set to return to the screen during the week of August 18.
This isn’t the first time Nicole Paggi has stepped in for Storms. She previously filled in back in December 2023. So why the sudden switch? According to a show spokesperson, the casting change is only temporary and was necessary due to a scheduling conflict in Storms’ calendar.
Kirsten Storms has played Maxie Jones since 2005 and has become a beloved part of General Hospital’s core cast.
Temporary recasts are fairly common in the soap opera world, especially on a show like General Hospital. Maxie Jones has also been temporarily played by Molly Burnett and Jen Lilley, both of whom are Days of Our Lives alumnae. (Photo: ABC.)
