Days of Our Lives is truly blessed with some of the most gifted actors in daytime, and this week’s episodes proved it once again. Recent Daytime Emmy Award winner Paul Telfer and multiple-time nominee Linsey Godfrey delivered powerhouse performances that had fans talking all weekend long, right into this week.

Their raw, emotional work from last Friday’s episode straight through this week has earned them the title of Soap Opera News’ Performers of the Week for October 27–31.

From her early days as Caroline Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful, it was clear that Linsey Godfrey was born for daytime drama. She’s always brought heart, fire, and depth to her roles, and this week she reminded us exactly why she’s so beloved as Sarah Horton Kiriakis. Godfrey’s ability to balance strength and vulnerability made every scene hit just right.

And then there’s Paul Telfer, who continues to prove why we crowned him Top Male Performer of 2024. The Academy clearly agrees because he recently snagged his first Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor, a well-deserved honor for his portrayal of the complex, charming, and often infuriating Xander Kiriakis.

What Happened on Days of Our Lives?

This week, Sarah and Xander found themselves on rocky ground once again—because, well, Xander’s lies finally caught up to him. When Maggie started questioning what really happened the night Philip was nearly beaten to death, she pressed Xander for the truth.

Just as things were heating up, Sarah walked in and demanded answers of her own. Once Maggie filled her in, Sarah begged Xander to tell her the truth, that he wasn’t guilty of what he was being accused of. Unfortunately, as we all know, he was.

What followed was heartbreak, confrontation, and some of the best acting we’ve seen on Days this October. Xander’s guilt ate away at him, and Sarah’s devastation poured out in every word and tear. Godfrey captured Sarah’s disbelief and pain beautifully, while Telfer’s portrayal of a man cornered by his own choices was absolutely gripping. No doubt.

Xander’s session with Marlena, then his confrontation with Maggie at the office, and that unforgettable rage room moment featuring Sarah were pure soap gold—emotional, intense, and impossible to look away from.

Congrats to Paul Telfer and Linsey Godfrey on being named Performers of the Week. These two always bring their A-game, and this week, they reminded everyone why they’re at the top of the Days of Our Lives mountain with so many others.
