Steve Burton, who reprised his iconic role as Jason Morgan on General Hospital, has officially wrapped his run as Harris Michaels on Days of Our Lives. Despite having finished filming months in advance, his final episode did not air until today, June 24th, due to the show’s advanced taping schedule.
In his exit scene, Steve Burton’s character returned to town and reconnected with Ava on a romantic level before making his exit to go chase a lead on Megan Hathaway.
In 1988, Burton made his debut as Harris Michaels on Days of Our Lives. He then took on the role of Jason Quartermaine (later renamed Jason Morgan) on General Hospital in 1991. In 2007, Burton reprised the role of Jason in the first season of General Hospital: Night Shift.
Burton exited General Hospital in 2012, and he joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as Dylan McAvoy in 2013. In 2016, Burton left the role of Dylan. After that Burton returned to GH in 2017 however, in November 2021, Burton’s contract with General Hospital was terminated. Subsequently, it was revealed in April 2022 that Burton would reprise his role as Harris Michaels on Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem. In January 2024, Steve Burton announced that he had wrapped filming Days and would be returning to GH.
