He’s a very successful man today. But, before he got to this exciting part of his life, Tyler Perry had to deal with years of childhood abuse by the man he called his “father”. This is something he recalls as an unpleasant childhood in the latest episode of The Jess Cagle Interview.
Perry, who is a well-known actor-writer-producer opened up about how he was able to forgive his “father” and later learn the truth about his paternity. Besides being physically and verbally attacked at home, Perry was also a victim of sexual assault in the New Orleans community where he grew up.
