As we’ve said before, there’s clearly much more to Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) than meets the eye on Days of Our Lives. Her recent behavior has viewers buzzing: when she’s not making secretive phone calls, she’s recognizing people we never expected her to know, and—perhaps most intriguingly—she appears to have a mysterious connection to Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy). That alone is enough to raise eyebrows.
In a recent episode, as the citizens of Salem gathered to pay their respects to John Black (a touching tribute to actor Drake Hogestyn, who passed away in 2024), Cat made a surprising move.
As she walked past Shane Donovan, she quietly and knowingly said one word: “Director.” Shane didn’t respond verbally, but his subtle reaction, scanning the area as if to make sure no one else noticed, was impossible to miss. What’s going on here?
About the ISA
The International Security Agency (ISA) is a long-standing fictional spy organization within the Days of Our Lives universe. Since its introduction in the early 1980s, the ISA has been portrayed as a secretive, well-funded global task force combating international crime. Many of Salem’s most iconic residents have worked with or for the ISA at some point, including Roman Brady, John Black, Steve Johnson, Rafe Hernandez, Bo and Hope Brady, Billie Reed, and Philip Kiriakis.
One of the agency’s most enduring figures is Shane Donovan, who is now serving as the ISA’s Director. So what does this mean for Cat Greene? Could she be a covert agent herself? Is her connection to Shane part of a larger storyline yet to unfold?
One thing is clear: there is more to Cat Greene. And if the ISA is involved, the stakes are about to get much higher.
