Y&R Recap Today

Mariah and Tessa tell Sharon about putting Aria to bed and Sharon tries to reassure them that everything will be ok. Mariah lashes out at her but then quickly apologizes. Sharon tells her that she understands how she is feeling and that now is not the time for them to panic or lose hope. Tessa and Mariah admit they have been researching on the internet and it’s all scaring them more. Sharon tells them that she did the same thing when she was diagnosed, and it made it worse.

They change the subject and ask her about the company. Sharon tells them that she’s merging with Newman Media and tells them what Adam is trying to do. She tells them that the merger may not happen now and everything is up in the air. Sharon tells them that no matter what she will not give up her third of the company and she will fight Adam and Victor if she has to. Mariah encourages her to keep that stance and wishes she was as strong as her mother right now. Tessa says she is the strongest and bravest of all three of them and Sharon agrees. Sharon tells Mariah that she doesn’t give herself enough credit and that Aria is lucky to have them both as parents. She also reminds them that they are not alone and they all hug.

After Sharon leaves, Tessa suggests that they take Aria on a hike, and Mariah says maybe later. Tessa reminds her that they are meeting with the specialist later, and Mariah apologizes for her mind being scattered. She blames herself for not noticing a problem with Aria’s hearing earlier and Tessa tries to tell her that it’s not her fault. Tessa gets an idea and tells her that she is going to make a call before leaving the kitchen. Mariah wants to know what her surprise is, and then there is a knock on the door. It’s Devon, and he tells Mariah that Tessa told him what is going on with Aria, and he wants to help in any way he can and answer any questions they may have. Mariah hugs him gratefully.

Y&R Recap Today

Nick goes to Sally’s room at the GAC and throws his jacket angrily. Sally asks if he is mad about her not telling him about the job offer, but Nick tells her that it’s not her he’s mad at, it’s Adam. She asks what he did, but Nick doesn’t want to talk about Adam, so she declares her room an Adam-free space. She tells Nick she knows something to cheer them both up before kissing him passionately. Nick kisses her back, and they start to undress each other.

After they make love, Sally asks Nick if he’s feeling better, and he tells her he does. She tells him that she needs to talk to him about something, but it feels awkward. Nick tells her she can talk to him about anything and asks what it is. Sally asks if his offer to fund a business for her is still open, and Nick replies with an enthusiastic yes. She tells him that she will give him a business plan and a profit & loss projection, but he cuts her off and tells her that she doesn’t have to convince him because he has complete faith that she will be successful no matter what she does.

Nick asks if this means she won’t be working for Adam, and she says yes. She tells him that she hasn’t told him yet, but she would. Nick is happy about it, but Sally admits she did consider it, but something felt off, especially because Adam didn’t talk to him and Sharon first. Nick thinks she dodged a bullet by not taking the job, and Sally points out they are talking about Adam again. Nick changes the subject and asks what made her change her mind about letting him fund her. She tells him she wasn’t ready and didn’t want him to think she was taking advantage of him.

Nick tells her that it never crossed his mind that she would, and Sally admits that the old her would have. Nick tells her he likes the new her and admires her after everything she’s been through. Sally tells him that after she lost the baby she thought she would never smile again, but now she smiles all the time because of him. She thanks him for how wonderful he’s been to her, and he tells her that she’s going to soar higher than all of them. She tells him that she likes that and they kiss.

As they are getting dressed, Nick tells Sally that he is meeting with Sharon to talk about how they should fight Adam, and she tells him that she is going to meet with Adam to turn down his job offer. She says that after that, she will dust off her business plan and update it for him. He tells her to do it sooner rather than later so they can get going on it. Sally can’t believe it’s really happening. Nick tells her that he’d be a fool not to fund her and that she’s a great investment. He wishes she would change her mind about moving in with him, but Sally tells him she can only do one life-changing thing at a time.

Y&R Recap Today

Adam goes to the ranch and thanks Victor for agreeing to meet with him. Victor remarks that Adam said it was important, and Adam agrees that it is. He tells him that he wants to be named sole CEO when the merger goes through. He thinks Newman Media will be the dominant force, and since he created it, he is most qualified to run it. He adds that he did it with his father’s help, and Victor sarcastically thanks him for acknowledging his contribution. Adam points out that the merger was his idea and that’s one of a hundred reasons that he deserves the job.

Victor says he is not surprised by Adam’s request and asks him to sit down. He tells him that his request is brazen, but it fits with Adam’s previous actions. Adam asks if he would have preferred BS that he would have seen right through. Victor tells him that he would have preferred a number of things and then changes the subject. He asks Adam if he ran this by Nick and Sharon. Adam thinks they will eventually come around to it. Victor tells him that he can’t form a partnership and then make this move. Adam wonders how Victor can’t see the wisdom in his idea, and Victor tells him that it’s his methods he takes issue with.

Adam sarcastically apologizes for his bad manners and says he deserves the position. Victor tells him that’s up for debate and then asks why they would upset the plans they already put in place for the merger. He tells him it’s a complex process that requires a number of people, not just him. Victor asks if he is disappointed in his decision and Adam tells him that he’s not surprised. Victor tells him to stop the self-pity and they start to loudly argue with each other. Adam’s mad that Victor agreed to the merger only after Nate said it was a good idea even though Adam had suggested it numerous times before that.

He asks Victor if he’s being punished for his blackmail scheme, and Victor replies, asking if he could blame him if it was. Adam points out that he has done the same thing in his career, and Victor tells him that this is not about him and asks what’s the matter with Adam. Victor asks what he will do now and asks if he will sulk. Adam tells him that he thought they would all see that he’s right, but he will back off for now. He says that maybe Nate will suggest it and it will suddenly become a great idea. Adam tells him that Audra is redundant because they don’t need 4 people running the company. Victor agrees, and Adam asks if that means she is fired and Victor says they will see.

After Adam leaves, Victor tells Nikki why he was there. She asks what that would mean for Sharon and Nick, and Victor tells her that they would answer to Adam. She thinks he would just use that power to cause more trouble, and Victor tells her not to worry about that. She says she does worry about that and reminds him that she warned him that sending Nick to keep Adam in line was a bad idea from the start. She says that he doesn’t listen to her, and he tells her that he always does, but it takes time to sink in. Nikki tells him that she has an idea, but she’s not sure he’s going to like it. He tells her to try him, and she suggests putting Adam in the secondary position and letting Sharon and Nick be in charge.

Y&R Recap Today

Adam is surprised to see Esther working at Crimson Lights, and she tells him that Sharon hired her to be the new manager since she was so busy with the new company. Sally arrives and thanks her for meeting with him. He tells her that he hopes she has good news for him, but she says she doesn’t.

Nikki comes into Crimson Lights and is surprised to find Esther working there. She asks if she has fallen on hard times, but Esther tells her she is doing great. She tells her that she is the new manager and has reinvented herself. Esther tells Nikki that it’s all the rage and she should consider it too, but Nikki says she is fine where she is. Esther tells her that the job is supposed to be temporary, but she doesn’t think Sharon will end up coming back because she is so invested in her new company. Nikki tells her that the merger may be blowing up, so not to get too comfortable behind the counter.

Esther is very upset and asks what happened, and Esther asks what happened. Nikki tells her that Adam is messing it all up. Esther feels bad for Sharon because of all of her hard work. Nikki agrees but says she is more focused on her family. Esther asks what Adam did, and Nikki tells her that it’s the same thing he always does, promises his father he will become the son he always wanted him to be and as usual Nick gets caught in the middle. Esther is sad and tells Nikki all her hopes and dreams for Crimson Lights are dashed. She tells her all the plans she had to change things, and Nikki reminds her that she’s only been in charge for 5 minutes and she’ll get over it.

At another table, Adam tells Sally that she still hasn’t given him an answer about the job. She tells him that she’s flattered but isn’t taking the job. He asks why, and she tells him that she has decided to take Nick up on his offer to fund her own business. She tells him that she thinks it’s time to do her own thing. He tells her that he thinks it’s a mistake, not because he thinks she will fail. He says he has full faith in her but asks how she knows it will really be hers with Nick’s money behind it. She tells him that they have discussed it, and he knows he will just be an investor, but Adam thinks Nick won’t be able to help himself. He will want to take charge and be in control, a trait he says that Nick and their father share.

Y&R Recap Today

Nick and Sharon meet at Society, and he asks how they can fight Adam. Sharon tells him that they just have to tell him no. Nick starts to talk strategy, and Sharon stops him, asking why they are doing this. She says that Adam won’t, or can’t, work with them and suggests they should back out of the whole deal. She says they can take back Kirsten and make it their own, free of Victor, free of Newman, and especially free of Adam.

Nick asks if she is serious, and she tells him that was their initial plan. He reminds her that she was the one who brought Adam into it, and she admits she was wrong. He asks if she really wants to do it, and she tells him that she thinks they have to, or they will just get pushed to the side while Adam and Victor fight it out between them. She tells him that she already has lawyers going over the contracts, and he tells her that’s smart, but this may not be the right move. He asks her if she thinks they can turn Kirsten and McCall into what they had imagined if they try, even with Victor and Adam involved. Sharon admits that she doesn’t know, and they both see Victor standing nearby.

Victor asks if he can join them, and they say yes. He sits down and brings up Adam’s proposal. He tells them that Adam came to him with it as well. Nick tells him that he thinks it would be a mistake, and if Victor goes along with it, then he is walking away. Victor asks Sharon what she thinks, and she tells him that she agrees with Nick. She thinks that if Adam was the sole one in charge, he would work to marginalize them and do what he wants.

Victor asks if they have forgotten that he still runs Newman Enterprises, and Sharon tells him that she has some questions about his intentions with Kirsten. She asks if he thinks Kirsten is essential to the merger and he tells her that he wouldn’t have approved it if he didn’t. She asks why he thinks it needs to be stripped down to the bare minimum if that’s true and he tells her that only a lean company can compete in today’s marketplace. Nick asks if he is talking about the company or the three of them running things together.

Sally meets Nick at Society and he asks how things went with Adam. She tells him about their conversation and says Adam doesn’t trust him. Nick’s not surprised and tells her that Sharon is thinking about walking away from the merger and he thinks he should too. He suggests that he’d be better off just focussing on her new company. She asks him not to take what she is about to say the wrong way and then tells him that she is accepting his funding as an investment and isn’t looking for a business partner. She tells him that she feels like it will cause issues between them if she feels that she has to answer to him and asks if they can agree that she is running the show or they have no deal.

Y&R Recap Today

Nikki approaches Victor at the ranch and tells him that he left before letting her know what he thought about her idea. He tells her that Sharon is threatening to pull out of the deal and Nikki asks if she can do that. Victor says that it’s legally debatable but he is worried Nick may join her. Nikki asks if all of this is worth it and how it benefits him in any way.

Y&R Recap Today

Sharon goes back to Crimson Lights and Esther asks if it’s all over. She tells her she had such high hopes for the place and knew Sharon shouldn’t have gone into business with her exes. She offers her the keys back, but Sharon tells her that nothing has changed. She tells her everything is not blown up and is right on track. Adam comes in just in time to hear her say that things look even better than they did before.
