Y&R Recap February 9, 2024: Today on The Young and the Restless – Jack and Nikki’s bond upsets Diane, Mamie strategizes with Nate, and Ashley stands her ground with Tucker.
Daniel and Phyllis are having a chat about her going after Danny. Phyllis tells him that it’s just like what’s happening between him and Heather. She even calls it fate or destiny. Daniel wonders if his mom is just going after his dad because of her feud with Christine.
However, Phyllis insists that she’s not. She defends herself, saying they’re in the same boat as him and Heather, and she won’t apologize for going after something she wants. Daniel calls her out as he tells her she’s still the same old Phyllis. They argue about what she’s doing to his dad, and Phyllis is upset, saying it kills her that he’s choosing Christine over her. Daniel points out that his dad and Christine actually have real feelings for each other. Phyllis tells her son that it breaks her heart and leaves.

Danny encounters Christine and she confesses that she cannot leave things unresolved. She ants to clear the air and suggests going inside. However, Danny takes her to Crimson Lights instead, where they engage in a discussion about recent developments. Christine observes that ever since Phyllis became aware of them spending more time together, she has been making advances towards Danny. However, Danny does not see it that way. Christine maintains her stance and goes as far as labeling Phyllis as a narcissist.

Danny, feeling exasperated, expresses his frustration at being in the middle of the constant conflict between the two women. Christine acknowledges her visit was prompted by the need to rectify things. She mentions her feelings for Danny and wonders if he feels the same. She doesn’t want to walk away from their connection and promises to give minimal thought to Phyllis. A heated altercation ensues when Phyllis arrives, and a frustrated Danny makes a swift exit.
Diane returns home and Jack fills her in on everything. He tells her that he and Victor called a truce. He will continue to be Nikki’s sponsor, but Victor also gave him a warning.
Diane asks if he’s worried about what Victor said and Jack says all he cares about is Nikki getting the help she needs. Then he’s all sweet, telling Diane how much he appreciates her support. Diane wonders if he really thinks he can save Nikki from all this mess or if it is too late. She’s worried that Jack could put himself in a line of fire, considering how Jordan could come after him, but Jack’s determined to help her. Then Diane asks if he has been tempted to use again with all the stress. Jack explains that he has not been tempted.

Billy is sitting at the bar in GCAC, sipping on his drink, when Tucker strolls in. Billy was really just hoping for some peace and quiet, but of course Tucker starts asking about Ashley and whether she’s back from Paris. Billy’s not having it and tells Tucker to mind his own business and forget about his sister. Tucker then goes and calls Ashley the angry one, saying he wants to steer clear of her. And to top it off, he calls out Billy’s whole “Superior” act.
Nate bumps into Audra at Society and she tells him she’s not expecting anyone. So Nate pulls up a chair and asks her what’s up with her scheme. He’s curious if her whole holding hand thing with Tucker is part of the plan or if she’s actually catching feelings for the guy. Audra asks why does he even care. But Nate is convinced she’s into the guy and hopes it won’t mess up her judgment and cost her another job.

Then Mamie shows up all excited to see Nate. Audra bails, saying she was just about to leave, so Mamie takes her seat. She wonders what’s going on, and Nate explains he’s just looking out for Audra cause she’s like a friend to him. But Mamie advises him to watch out; she’s like a young Jill – ambitious and scheming. She warns Nate to steer clear of Audra. They chat about Nate getting back to Chancellor-Winters, and it’s going pretty well. Mamie asks how things are with Billy, and Nate points out that they get along. They get into why Jill brought Billy on board, and Mamie thinks it’s cause Jill feels threatened. She’s worried and tells him to watch out.
When Billy walks in, he asks, “Worried about what?” Nate talks about Mamie’s concerns, and Billy explains he was brought in because of the threat Tucker poses. Then he goes on about Mamie going after Jill and causing drama. Nate wants them to be a united front, so Billy suggests he tell Mamie to lay off his mom.
Tucker and Audra!
Tucker is his suite when he gets a text about Ashley returning from Paris. He tells them to give him a heads-up when she gets home. Soon after, Audra swings by and tells him her visit is work-related. She’s been digging into the businesses he wants to bring into Glissade and two of them seem pretty shady financially, like they’re carrying a lot of junk debt. She’s surprised he didn’t catch it, but he explains that he did, and he was just testing her to see if she’d pick up on it and suggest alternatives. Audra realizes he was testing her loyalty. Then he starts trying to charm her, and they end up kissing. But just as things heat up, he gets a text and Audra goes for his phone. She sees a message saying, “She’s home,” and realizes Tucker’s still keeping tabs on Ashley.

Ashley, on her way back from Paris, reminisces about the events that transpired there. Upon arriving at the mansion, Jack expresses relief at her return, revealing his fear that she might have decided to stay in Paris indefinitely. As Ashley discusses Tucker’s bribery of the waiter and observes the solemn expressions on Jack and Diane’s faces, she insists on knowing what is going on. Jack, in a firm tone, suggests addressing the matter as a family, including Abby. Perplexed, Ashley demands to know what’s going on. Why do they need a family meeting all of a sudden?
