Robert Scott Wilson, who has played Ben Weston on ‘Days of Our Lives’ and Pete Cortlandt on ‘All My Children,’ is a suited candidate for so much more than just a 5-episode story arc return on any daytime soap opera. We here at Soap Opera News are of the opinion that Wilson has done an exceptional job throughout his run on daytime soaps and hence the reason we think he should have a more significant presence in the genre.
Here are 3 roles we could see Wilson playing in the genre:

(1) Morgan Corinthos on ‘General Hospital’ – the role was most notably played by Bryan Craig who opted to leave the show after winning two Daytime Emmy-Awards back-to-back to pursue other opportunities. Despite fans’ desire for his return, Craig is finding success in primetime and in films and has already stated that he’s open to returning to the soap on a recurring basis. But, given that the character is a member of a core family bringing him back from the “dead” would make more sense if he was a permanent fixture on the canvas. And, what better thing to do than bringing a guy with class, roots and the ability to portray a complex, impulsive and imperfect Morgan Corinthos than Wilson himself?

(2) Thomas Forrester on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ – the role which was recently vacated by Pierson Fode who opted not to renew his contract with the show. Again, this is a character tied to a core family, The Forresters, so his presence his always welcomed. Thomas, however, is not as complex as the character of Morgan. Thomas is known for being extremely attractive and for being the charming heir of Forrester Creations. Wilson could definitely bring off that charming, attractive, all eyes on me type of guy as he did with his role on ‘AMC’.

(3) Kyle Abbott on ‘The Young and the Restless’ – another heir to a rich and popular family. The role was most recently played by Lachlan Buchanan with his last appearance in 2016. It’s been over a year since we last saw the character but could it be time for a return? With all the drama surrounding the Abbotts we’re thinking – heck yeah – it’s time! Afterall, he’s Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) son. And, since the show may have to do some recasting we would love to Wilson as the new Kyle Abbott. We know he’d be a perfect addition to the cast.
So, do you agree with the aforementioned suggestions? If Wilson doesn’t stick around as Ben Weston on ‘Days’ – which of these roles would you like to see him play?
