According to reports, the show — being new — produced only 200 episodes this year. However, a ramp-up is already planned: 238 episodes are slated for next year, with a goal of 250 episodes annually going forward, in line with soap industry standards.
Recently, The Gatekeepers Podcast shared on X, “Only 200 episodes were ordered for #BeyondTheGates’ first season, while other soaps air about 240 eps/year. This is typical for a first season! But, make sure you support so we get that FULL season 2 order.”
This explanation was confirmed by Karla Mosley’s response to a fan on her Instagram post:
“I think it has to do with the number of eps shot because we are a new soap. This upcoming year, we are shooting 238 instead of the 200 we did this year. And the year after that we would start doing 250 like most soaps.
I think they are giving us some wiggle room to ramp up to the full 250 as everyone gets their footing in this genre. Remember, the others have been around for 40 and 50 years. And so have some of the producers, actors, and crew members. It’s a different kind of rigor. But, fear not, we are hot on their heels.”
