Here’s some good news for many. Democratic Senator, Kamala Harris has announced that she will be running for president in the 2020 election. Harris is the 8th name to join the battle. Harris served as Califonia’s attorney general and was elected as senator in 2016.
Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, Tulsi Gabbard, John Delaney and Julian Castro are among those who have also announced their intentions to run. Harris already has a lot of persons in her corner as the 2020 Democratic presidential primary will be the first time more than one woman competes for the party’s nomination.

In 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” He had a vision for what our country could be but knew his aspirations wouldn’t be achieved overnight. It’s on us to carry out his work.— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) January 21, 2019
This campaign is a fight for the soul of our country. It’s a fight of and for the people. Together, we will fight for a country with strong public schools. A country where one job is enough to pay the bills. A country with health care for every single American.— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) January 21, 2019
Where every single person can retire with dignity. Where we can all breathe clean air and drink clean water. Where Black women aren’t three to four times more likely to die in childbirth than white women.— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) January 21, 2019
A country where we stop incentivizing corporations to profit off the incarceration of millions. We’re going to fight for an America where all our civil rights are respected.— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) January 21, 2019
