This is a good one! Oh Sh!t’, a short film, by Kate Mansi (Kristina, General Hospital).

The logline:

An overachieving actress battles food poisoning, a surprise period, and an overzealous intimacy coordinator – all while trying to literally not sh*t herself, just to get the shot.

For us mere mortals, acting and working as an actor on set sounds glamorous. And we are pretty sure it is. Kate Mansi’s story, though, reminds us that nothing is ever perfect.

If you dare picture this, Mansi was shooting an Indie film, and they were nearing completion when Mansi was “hit with brutal food poisoning.” The cast and crew had already endured delays and blizzards, so Mansi was determined not to be the holdup in finishing. No matter what or how bad she was feeling, she was going to make it through her final scene…which just happened to be a sex scene. Oh boy!

When Mansi arrived on set, she realized she wasn’t the only one “hit.” The crew was just as ill as she was. Regardless, everyone echoed the same resolve. They were going to get it done!

While sick and immersed in the center of it all, Mansi thought, “Please don’t let me sh*t on Shariff”! Mansi describes the day as a “disaster” and a “comedy of errors,” yet also “strangely beautiful.”

The short film based on Mansi’s true story is an ingenious way that she and the crew are making something “hilarious out of something horrifying.”

Mansi is co-writer, producer, and stars in the project. She has begun a fundraising GoFundMe for Oh Sh!t’. You can donate and learn more about the project on its GoFundMe page. And there are also some cool “thank you” gifts for those who support the project. (Photo: ABC.)
