The jig is up for Kristen DiMera on Days of Our Lives!
Stacy Haiduk (Kristen, Susan) reveals in the latest Soap Opera Digest the chaotic set of events that lead to Kristen being unmasked. Starting with Gabi (Camila Banus) who has been suspicious of “Nicole” for some time now. Stefan (Brandon Barash) walks in on them mid-fight and the newlyweds discover that it’s actually the presumed dead Kristen beneath the mask. “He’s shocked to see Kristen alive.” Kristen gets the jump on Stefan and knocks him out before he has a chance to stop her. She drags both unconscious bodies to the not-so-secret room in the DiMera tunnels for the time being.
A little frazzled from the encounter she puts herself back together before meeting with her main goal….target?….Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). Brady who has been privy to the Salem brain recently has been thinking about Kristen. He reveals to “Nicole” that he thinks that she may be alive and starts to question whether she saw her in the warehouse around the time of the fire. Of course, Kristen starts to believe this means that Brady really does still care for her and considers revealing herself to her former love. But “there’s that fear that he’s still going to reject her.” Luckily for her, the two are interrupted by Tony (Thaao Penghlis).
Brady leaves to aid in the setting up of John and Marlena’s party and leaves them to chat. Tony once again asks her for a divorce that way he could be with his love, Anna. Kristen denies his request. “She still hasn’t gotten [control of] DiMera Enterprises. Until that happens, she’s not going to give him a divorce.”
Later on, she attends the anniversary party with Brady. This is where everything starts to unravel. John (Drake Hogestyn) grows suspicious thanks to the partygoer’s comments on “Nicole’s” behavior. And there’s also the fact that Susan Banks shows up to enjoy the festivities. She ends up dragging Susan off to a room in the back to tie her up. “…She’s not going to take any chances.”
Unfortunately for her, all of her work is ruined when Xander (Paul Telfer) finally decides to spill the tea about his boss. Eli (Lamon Archey) relays the news to Hope (Kristian Alfonso) who tells John. They start to piece everything together which ends with John confronting “Nicole”. The two struggle and in the midst of the drama the mask comes off. “…this is not the way she wanted to show herself.”
