Performer of the Week: Y&R’s Michael Graziadei

Michael Graziadei’s portrayal of Daniel Romalotti on The Young and the Restless has earned him the title of Soap Opera News’ Performer of the Week.

In a series of powerful, emotionally charged, gut wrenching performances that could leave even the toughest critic sobbing, Graziadei sealed his status as a true asset to the show this week. 

So, what went down? Daniel’s concern for Heather increased when he received a text from her phone, saying she skipped town. Fast forward a bit—Daniel is with Phyllis when he receives a shocking call from the police informing him that Heather’s body has been found in the river and that he must come to identify her. Upon arriving at the morgue, Graziadei delivered a stunning array of emotional depth, firmly placing him at the center of the week’s performance discussions.

His portrayal of the heart-wrenching moments, particularly alongside Lily Brooks O’Briant’s Lucy Romalotti—as Daniel breaks the devastating news of her mother’s death—was nothing short of extraordinary. In scenes where he called Paul to inform him that his daughter is no longer alive, Graziadei’s raw vulnerability had a profound impact. After hanging up, Daniel hit the floor in tears, leaving viewers an emotional wreck.
