Ric is making a return to General Hospital! That’s right — Rick Hearst is officially back, as first reported by TV Insider.
The three-time Daytime Emmy award winner Rick Hearst reprises his role as Ric Lansing, with his first scenes airing the week of August 19, as he heads back to the studios to film new scenes beginning next week.
Hearst joined General Hospital in 2002 and has now made a triumphant return after an 8-year hiatus. In a recent interview with TV Insider, he expressed his surprise when the show reached out to him. “It’s been very much on my periphery and not in my consciousness for eight years. The last time I was there was 2016.”
He is also very excited to see his former colleagues and to meet Kristen Vaganos who now plays his onscreen daughter, Molly Lansing-Davis. He said, “I’ve heard wonderful things about her and I’m looking forward to meeting her and just being an open book for her so that it helps drive whatever story that we’re going to be in.”
Ric Hearst, a soap opera veteran is also known for his roles as Scotty Banning on Days of our Lives, Alan-Michael Spaulding on Guiding Light, Matt Clark on The Young and the Restless and Whip Jones on The Bold and the Beautiful.
