Sasha Calle (ex-Lola Rosales, The Young and the Restless) has landed an exciting new gig. Calle is set to star alongside; Daisy Edgar-Jones, Jacob Elordi, Will Poulter and Diego Calva in On Swift Horses. The project will be directed by Daniel Minahan and Peter Spears, Tim Headington, Theresa Steele Page and Michael D’Alto are producing. Bryce Kass is adapting the script.
The story follows newlyweds Muriel and Lee as he returns from the Korean War. It is based on Shannon Pufahl’s novel of the same name. The arrival of Lee’s charismatic younger brother, Julius, a wayward gambler with a secret, upends this newfound stability. A dangerous love triangle quickly forms as the three vow to start a new life together in California, but their quest for the American Dream is shattered when Julius vanishes and heads to Las Vegas instead. Muriel begins her own secret life, betting on racehorses and falling in love with someone she never thought possible.
Wavelength is being backed by Ley Line and FirstGen. Executive producers include Alvaro Valente and Bryce Kass, as well as Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler of Killer Films. Executive producers include Nate Kamiya and David Darby of Ley Line, Randal Sandler, Claude Amadeo, and Chris Triana of FirstGen, and Jennifer Westphal and Joe Plummer of Wavelength. Filming for the project has begun in Los Angeles.
