It may be a tad early to say this, but let’s be real—Alexa Havins Bruening is doing exactly what many predicted when her casting as Lulu Spencer on General Hospital was announced: she’s absolutely knocking it out of the park!
We often talk about how challenging it is for actors to step into roles of already established characters, especially when previous actors have built a strong fan base. However, even after a four-year absence from the canvas, Lulu seamlessly swooped back into the drama as Alexa Havins made her debut on November 19, when the character woke up from her years-long coma.
During this return, viewers were given just a glimpse of Alexa’s talent through a newly created flashback scene featuring Lulu and Cyrus (Jeff Kober), which replaced an original scene performed by Emme Rylan.
Alexa Havins Bruening Soap Grade:
Now, Alexa has everyone intrigued, and let’s just say, she’s throwing herself into this role, leaving no note un-sanged while Lulu orchestrates a somewhat desperate “great escape” from Turning Woods.
It really shouldn’t come as a surprise given that Alexa was a powerhouse as Babe Chandler on All My Children. She truly brought everything we needed to the soap opera universe—and she’s doing it again! Now, with just a few episodes under belt, she already has us—and we’re sure, many others, rooting for her in this role. Thumbs up, Alexa Havins Bruening—we give you an A+ in our soap grade!
