Vincent Stalba is bidding farewell to The Young and the Restless and the role of Carter, a role that was initially supposed to be an under-5 co-star but turned into a recurring spot. Stalba is leaving with a heart full of gratitude and a career milestone under his belt.
The actor took to social media to reflect on his journey. He celebrates what he calls a “ride” from an “under-5 co-star to a 9-episode arc” on daytime television’s longest-running soap.
“From an under-5 co-star to a 9-episode arc on the #1 daytime drama! What a ride!” Stalba wrote. “Thank you to the incredible cast, crew, and audience who welcomed me immediately.”

During his very brief stint, Stalba left a mark on his fellow cast members, who will hold a special place in his heart. He gave a special nod to Days of Our Lives alum Billy Flynn, who currently plays Cane Ashby on Y&R, saying, “It was an honor sharing the screen with you.” As viewers know, Carter was introduced as Cane’s right-hand man, aka his assistant.
Stalba also extended his appreciation to head writer Josh Griffith and the show’s writing team for crafting what he calls an “unforgettable role,” and to casting director Greg Salmon for bringing him into the fold.
He didn’t forget the guiding hands behind the camera either, as he poured out special thanks to directors Sally McDonald, Owen Renfroe, Kai Kim, and Nancy Ortenberg for their “direction, care, and feedback.”
One of the most touching acknowledgments, however, went to a very special friend: “Thank you to my good friend Jeff Jocoy for running lines with me late at night in a Starbucks parking lot after work. I seriously couldn’t have done this without you.”
While Vincent Stalba’s time on Y&R has wrapped, the actor hinted that new stuff is on the horizon: “Can’t wait to tell you about upcoming projects!”
